Hi,

I just wanted to introduce myself (I've been around the forums for a while, but here's a more formal introduction). I created the new Intro to Flex Builder tutorial series that is being released this week. If you haven't already, be sure to check out the first hour for free here.

I'm a Flex developer by day, and an aspiring game programmer by night. If you have questions regarding this tutorial, or anything else related to Flex, please feel free to start a new topic here in this forum.

Great Lesson intro!

Truthfully, I didn't have a clue what Flex Builder was... but now can't wait for the lesson. I'll keep my eye out this week.

Just a little note for all those freelancer that are finding work hard to come by now days. Flex is a hot topic and getting hotter on some of the freelance bid sites. I picked up 3 Flex jobs just this month and Justin tells me their are more Flex lesson to come for sure.

Now I mostly do advance Flex work, because I love programming, but I'm sure iBrent will get to that in time. Remember you have to learn to crawl before you can walk.

I can't wait for the next Flex tutorial myself, I love seeing how other developers design and figure things out and I'm sure those getting into Flex for the first time will find it's much easier than it looks once you get your head around it.

Thanks for the compliment! biggrin.gif

Yes, Flex is in high demand, and I can say that it's definitely worth learning. CyberSorcerer, you're absolutely right, Flex is not that difficult to learn, and extremely fun to use.

I can't wait 'til the rest is released either! cool.gif

Is the flashificator built with Flex? The flashificator is an app that helps with 360 parameters.

I just dropped in to say what great timing this tutorial is! I've been leaning more towards Flex than Flash and, with no knowledge of either apart from a few Flash tutorials I downloaded from here, I was wondering how different the two were and looking for a good beginner's tute on Flex.

Paid, downloading now. Just have to focus on something else for a few more days, but at least it'll be there waiting for me when I have the time.

Thanks so much for adding Flex to the list - I hope to see more in the future.

Just finished the Intro to Flex Builder tutorial - GREAT job Brent!! cool.gif

I did come out of it with a couple of questions, so I'll post those separately - hopefully get some Flex discussion going on here.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing some more Flex tutorials here on CartoonSmart!
